Mount Rushmore in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Be sure to have some ice cream at Mount Rushmore. While the claim that Thomas Jefferson introduced ice cream to the United States is demonstrably false, he can be credited with the first known recipe recorded by an American. Jefferson also likely helped to popularize ice cream in this country when he served it at the President�s House in Washington.

I suppose once you see it in person it would be hard to make the trip way out there to see it again.

I traveled across South Dakota once like 30 years ago and I didn't take the time to go to the monument. That has always bothered me as I have not been back that way since.
