Indian Village by Lynn Sprowl
Miller’s Indian Village in downtown Estes Park will be closing. The building that houses the iconic Estes landmark, as well as Old Fashioned Candy, and Lonigans Saloon, has been sold by the Miller family to Lonigans owner and his business partner.
Toni Miller is one of three members of the Miller family that owned the building, along with her brother and the children of her sister who has passed. Indian Village has been in her family since her parents bought the building 71 years ago, and for the past 17, Toni, with help from her husband, has been running the store that millions of visitors make a point to visit every year.
“My parents started in town in 1935,” said Miller. “They got this building somewhere around 1950.”
This iconic souvenir store is one I always visited. This sadden me so much... I would buy my boys Indian head wear, bows and arrows, little boy Indian belts, etc when they were young. I also bought some excellent pawn stuff for me... Things certainly are changing...sigh...
