Description
Deserted Bridge by Lynn Sprowl
This old bridge is crossing the Nueces River. This river, The Nueces, is in Texas and is about 315 miles long. This bridge is in Live Oak County, North of Simmons, Tx (a ghost town) and near the Simmons Community Church. Nueces is Spanish means "nuts" after the numerous pecan trees along its banks. Would you go swimming in the Nueces??? I sure wouldn't. A short distance away is Choke Canyon, which holds the state record gator of 14Ft 3in & 300lbs. So..and, yes, the Nueces River has gators. Also, this river has Alligator Gar. Just sayin....
