25 room Seelye Mansion was built in 1905 for Dr. A.B. Seelye who made his fortune in patent medicine. A tour runs about 1 1/2 hours with a guide. Beautifully decorated at Christmastime. Oh and most of the decor was purchased at the 1904 St Louis Worlds Fair.It was built for $55,000. Another cute note is that a young Dwight D. Eisenhower delivered ice to the Seelye house. This might be a fun place to stay, some time, rather that just going to a Budget 8....hahaha
