A young Amish man driving his horse and cart, probably homeward bound..based on the time I took this photo.
Amish families and communities are notable for maintaining a more primitive lifestyle. Amish believe large families are a blessing from God. Amish rules allow marrying only between members of the Amish Church. The elderly do not go to a retirement facility; they remain at home. The Old Order Amish are known for their avoidance of certain modern technologies, and maintain a lifestyle without electronic devices and/or other conveniences.
The Amish are prohibited by their religion from posing for photos, but not from being photographed. I did check on this.
