Description
Limestone Schoolhouse by Lynn Sprowl.
Lower Fox Creek school was built of locally quarried (beautiful) stone circa 1880 and served the educational needs of the rural area until the 1930's. After sitting empty for many years, a storm damaged the roof, giving incentive for the area people to renovate the old school in 1968 and it was placed on the National List of Historic Places. It is currently a part of the Tallgrass Prairie Nature Preserve
